Heartland introduces the new 2011 retro-styled MPG line of lightweight travel trailers. These teardrop trailers with Heartland's all new high gloss platinum fiberglass exterior blends a very contemporary look with a distinctly retro design. Available in four colorful exterior graphics packages each featuring an individual icon that depicts an active lifestyle.
Each model has a dry weight of less than 3,000 lbs., which means that it can be towed easily by most crossover vehicles and today's smaller SUVs. Even though these units are light in weight, the structural integrity remains very sound with an aluminum cage construction and fully laminated sidewalls and floor.
The MPG features a two-tone interior, chestnut maple kitchen cabinetry with mocha maple accents, along with AM/FM radio with CD and DVD player. Available in 19' 2" or 20' 2" lengths the MPG comes in either a non-slide or single slide for added living space. Models 185T and 186T features a rear tent bed along with a slideout galley and is 20' 2" in length.

Heartland Recreational Vehicles LLC, Elkhart, Ind., was founded in 2003 by a quintet of RV veterans. Their philosophy is lower numbers mean a better market and better dealers. That was one of the reasons why all of them left their previous companies to bring Heartland RV to the public.
The first product created by Heartland was a high-end fifth wheel. The Landmark which was aimed at extended-stay RVers who spend a lot of time in their coaches at one location was picked to create first on purpose because it was going to be the hardest to build and they wanted to prove that they could do it and do it right.
Because of the success with the Landmark they were able to introduce the Bighorn in 2004. From this debut, Heartland doubled its dealer base, and added two new coaches, the Cyclone and Sundance. Both of which are mid-profile sport utility fifth-wheel trailers
Heartland relies on word-of-mouth advertising and favorable review in RV club publications rather that through widespread advertising. Heartland has grown quickly especially after introducing the Sundance and Cyclone sport utility fifth-wheels but their aim is still to stay pretty content for a while so that they make sure that they are the best that they can be. Their goal is not to be a high volume company. They want to create demand from their dealers and for their dealers, and keep innovations going. With notable technological accomplishments like the tighter turning radius for extended-cab or short-bed pickup truck and the development of a universal docking center they are well on their way to doing just that!
